Nawazuddin Siddiqui has risen like a phoenix and is here to stay. After delivering stellar performances in movies like The Lunchbox, Manjhi: The Mountain Man, Gangs Of Wasseypur,Badlapur among others, Nawazuddin is now gearing up for the release of Raman Raghav 2. 0.
The trailer of Raman Raghav 2.0 has been creating waves already.Nawazuddin plays a serial killer in the movie.Finally we have our very own Dexter.Raman Raghav 2.0 premiered in Cannes Directors’ Fortnight at the 69th Cannes Film Festival this year where it got rave reviews.
Nawazuddin’s next project was announced immediately after Cannes.He will be playing famous Pakistani playwright Saadat Hasan Manto and the biopic will be directed by Nandita Das.
Saadat Hasan Manto has been called the greatest short-story writer of the Indian subcontinent. He was born in 1912 in Punjab and went on to become a radio and film-script writer, journalist, and short-story writer. His stories were highly controversial and he was tried for obscenity six times during his career. After Partition, Manto moved to Lahore with his wife and three daughters. He died there in 1955.
